I've Been Fighting Robots!

Yes, I've been fighting robots. Not physically, of course, but fighting still. It's tough for a graphic artist to talk about AI images without getting worked up, but I've been fighting the bots and winning! How? I've got a quick case study story.

A client approached me with a graphic that he had ChatGPT churn out for him. (It's the Neptune graphic above. If you can't see it, click here.) He liked it alright but realized the files weren't usable in any meaningful way. That's where I came in! Thanks to my art training and many years of experience, I was able to show him where the AI was making mistakes. There was a trident growing out of his shoulder, for starters, and the gold line above the text came and went with no rhyme or reason. There were lots of other errors, too - how many can you spot?

Thankfully, he hired me to recreate his logo and his truck wrap and I'm grateful to say that he loved the final result. You can see the full project by clicking here.

Since then, I've had quite a few other clients approach me with AI images that they want me to fix, and usually I can redraw them to add some humanity, fix the errors, and get rid of that "AI slop" look that all the AI images have. (If you want your clients to think your business is a scam, then use AI images!)
